SUMMARY:Feast of Saint James
DESCRIPTION:Together with the Diocese of St. Augustine\, the Mission Nombre de Dios\, and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine\, the Historic Florida Militia will celebrate the Feast of St. James events commemorating the Camino Las Américas and the Alliance of Cathedrals on Thursday\, July 25th starting at 6 p.m. The event begins with a procession featuring a specially commissioned statue of St. James at the Castillo de San Marcos. It concludes at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Erik Pohlmeier.

SUMMARY:Constitution Day Celebration at the Castillo
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with some local Constitution Day celebrations\, this day will be focused on Castillo’s Revolutionary War history. Brush off your Redcoats\, East Florida Ranger kits\, or any other Fort St. Mark-appropriate British attire for the day. Cannon firing demonstrations will be provided by the Royal Navy. \nNOTE TO REMEMBER: If you are bringing a musket\, do not carry any powder or cartridges. They are not permitted on NPS property. If the NPS is planning for musket demonstrations\, they will conduct the inspections and provide the powder.

SUMMARY:Enemy at the Gates
DESCRIPTION:Friday evening\, the Historic Florida Militia joins the National Park Service presenting “Enemy at the Gates.” This special presentation with a very limited amount of tickets to be sold\, takes visitors in small groups through various vignettes representing historical events during the siege of 1740 in St. Augustine. In the past stations have included: Oglethorpe and his commanders discussing the siege\, soldiers in the ravelin (fortified entrance area) discussing rumors\, reports from Indian allies of the Spanish on Fort Mose\, discussions on dwindling supply situation at Castillo\, report from Engineering officer\, Medical station\, troops preparing for surprise attack on Fort Mose’.
